Zumiez reported fiscal second-quarter results that missed analyst expectations on both earnings and revenue, while sharply weaker third-quarter guidance intensified the selloff. The action-sports retailer posted a net loss of $0.17 per share for the quarter ended Aug. 1, versus consensus estimates of roughly $0.11–$0.14, while net sales fell 2.5% year over year to $209 million, below expectations of about $213 million. Comparable-store sales declined 2.1%, pointing to weaker consumer demand in the U.S.
The outlook was even more disappointing, with Q3 EPS guided to just $0.00–$0.10 versus analyst expectations of about $0.59, while revenue guidance of $222–$226 million trailed consensus near $238 million. Zumiez also said Q3 sales to date were down 4.3% year over year and expects to close about 16 stores during fiscal 2026, suggesting management does not anticipate a quick recovery.
