On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment around BTC remained in the ‘bearish’ zone, while chatter around it stayed at ‘low’ levels over the past day.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Who Is Still Buying</h2>Two of the largest names on Wall Street have kept adding while the price has gone sideways. Fidelity’s FBTC fund bought $354.1 million of Bitcoin over the past 20 trading days, <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/arkham/status/2108448049949512033">according to Arkham</a>. Its other crypto funds bought in the same window, taking in $66.6 million of Ethereum (ETH) and $18.2 million of Solana (SOL). Morgan Stanley (MS) also added about 92 coins this week through its MSBT fund, <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://arkm.com/explorer/entity/morgan-stanley">Arkham data showed</a>, lifting its total to 10,639 BTC worth roughly $880 million.<h2 class="st-heading-2">The Flows Tell A Different Story</h2>Those two funds were buying even as the broader ETF category bled money this week. US spot Bitcoin ETFs lost $487.07 million on Wednesday, and another $244.13 million on Thursday, according to&nbsp;SoSoValue data. Traders often read it as a sign that a downtrend is over.He expects both Bitcoin and gold to rally. He said there’s more room for Bitcoin to run. "Bitcoin is going to go up more," he said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Cycle Model Missed Peak</h2>His cycle model had pointed to a peak close to $150,000 last year, said Timmer. He said Bitcoin topped out at about $126,000. The model plots time and price on logarithmic scales, compressing large moves to make it easier to compare patterns. Each winter is shorter than the previous one, he said.&nbsp; “It’s a maturing asset, right? So, it’s going to moon less and it’s going to swoon less,” he said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Timmer Says Gold Near $5,000: Warns Rising Treasury Yields Could Trigger Stock Correction</h2>After Bitcoin’s peak, speculators moved out of Bitcoin into gold, Timmer said. That took gold to around $5,600, he said. His model of the global money supply indicates gold should not have risen above $4,800, he said. Fair value is about $5,000 and climbing, he added. Bitcoin priced in gold shows a double bottom too, he said.Timmer’s take comes with a warning on bonds. The 10-year Treasury yield is around 5.3%, he said. <ul class="summary-bullets"><li><a class="mention" data-mention="$NEAR.X" data-symbol-id="NEAR.X" href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NEAR.X" target="_blank">NEAR</a> Protocol rallied over 11% on Saturday after the network said its accounts were already protected against future quantum computers.</li><li>Trading through NEAR Intents, its cross-chain system, passed $33.29 billion in total volume, according to DefiLlama.</li><li>A draft proposal filed on Wednesday would cut maximum annual token issuance to 1.6% from 2.5% over two years.</li></ul>NEAR Protocol (NEAR) rallied on Saturday after the protocol said its accounts were already protected against future quantum computers, and trading through its cross-chain system passed $33 billion.The rally came as NEAR Intents, which lets users move assets between blockchains, reached $33.29 billion in cumulative decentralized exchange (DEX) volume, $4.76 billion of it in the past 30 days,&nbsp;according to DefiLlama.&nbsp;Total value locked (TVL), the amount of money deposited in the system, stood at roughly $223 million. Of the $7.81 million in fees collected over the month, $2.15 million was used to buy NEAR on the open market and return it to holders.&nbsp;Intents also sat at the centre of the protocol’s quantum work. Bond markets are already under stress. France's 10-year yield momentarily surpassed 5% on October 1 and 2, the highest level since 2002.&nbsp;Its premium over German bonds has increased to approximately 152 basis points, the highest since 2011. The government intends to borrow a record €340 billion next year. Yields have dipped since then, although they remain about 4.8%.&nbsp;In such a scenario, Bitcoin could benefit with the low end being close to Bitcoin's previous record of approximately $126,000, seen in October last year. He believes Bitcoin will trade between $125,000 and $250,000 before the end of the year if that case holds out.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin’s price</a> was trading at around $82,751, down 0.5% in the past 24 hours. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around BTC remained in the ‘bearish’ zone, as chatter stayed at ‘low’ levels over the past day.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Hayes Sees $60,000 Gold As US Debt Fix</h2>Hayes said the U.S. would respond with a gold revaluation. “I would monetize gold and essentially depreciate the dollar against gold,” he said. He said he would set the price for gold at $50,000 to $60,000 per ounce.&nbsp;The gain would allow Washington to retire the whole stock of Treasury securities. Hayes predicted that the move would be significantly inflationary. He described it as the only method he sees to deal with excessive debt and high interest payments.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Hayes Warns AI Data Center Debt Could Trigger A 2008-Style Crisis</h2>Hayes also finds risk in investing in AI. The U.S. economy is so heavily dependent on building data centers, they’re like real estate projects, he said. That means if tenants can’t pay, lenders will cease financing new developments.&nbsp;The waste could become obvious in 2027 and 2028, he said. Bad debt could then extend to insurers and fiduciaries, as it <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/ai-liquidity-bitcoin-needed-says-arthur-hayes/cZKB0isR7d2">happened in 2008</a>. Hayes anticipates governments will print money to make insurers whole, rather than allow AI to cause a recession.Soaring sovereign yields are squeezing out AI funding, he said. Hyperscalers care less about the increased costs of debt because they see the benefit of constructing advanced AI as endless, Hayes said. Ethereum “could easily be 25,000 or 50,000 per token,” he said.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Still Calling It Undervalued</h2>Lee called the token “massively undervalued,” pointing to years of sideways trading. The longer the base, he said, the bigger the breakout. The market, however, shows something different. Bitcoin’s (BTC) dominance has risen to about 57.5%, while Ethereum’s sat near 10.5%.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/ethereum">Ethereum’s price</a> traded relatively flat over the past 24 hours. While AAVE gained, the rest of the group barely moved. Pendle (PENDLE) gained 0.8%, and Uniswap (UNI) gained 0.3%, both only slightly ahead of Bitcoin, which was up only 0.2% in the last 24 hours. Ether.fi (ETHFI) went the other way, falling 5.5% over the past 24 hours.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin’s price</a> fell back to $82,761 at the time of writing. Over the week, Bitcoin has fallen over 2%, despite having reached the $86,000 range just last week.&nbsp;On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment around BTC remained in the ‘bearish’ zone, while chatter around it stayed at ‘low’ levels over the past day.<h2 class="st-heading-2">AAVE Rallies After MetaMask Integration Drives AI Trading Buzz</h2>Aave's gain came as<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/aave/status/2108559774946398568">&nbsp;MetaMask's Agent Wallet</a>&nbsp;was integrated with Aave's MCP, connecting the lending protocol to AI-driven transactions. The protocol also reported rising V4 deposits ahead of a deployment review and strong third-quarter growth.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/aave">AAVE’s price</a> was up over 4% over the past 24 hours. On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment around AAVE remained in the ‘neutral’ zone, while chatter around it shifted to ‘high’ from ‘normal’ levels over the past day.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Citrini Named</h2>According to the research firm, global equities were worth over $157 trillion against a crypto market capitalization of nearly $2.66 trillion, the firm said. It added that the on-chain value of tokenized stocks and equities had climbed to roughly $4.84 billion.Citrini pointed to Robinhood (HOOD) Chain as the first to open the market with stock tokens, and noted that in the week ending Sept. 13, Solana’s (SOL) decentralized exchanges processed about 208 million trades against 190 million on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The firm also favored Coinbase (COIN), besides highlighting Hyperliquid (HYPE).&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/HOOD">HOOD stock</a> closed up by over 1% on Friday. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around HOOD remained in the ‘bearish’ zone, while chatter stayed at ‘normal’ levels over the past day.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Volume Isn't Value</h2>The firm was explicit that none of this guaranteed that the tokens would go up. Higher on-chain volume does not necessarily lift token prices, Citrini said. They remained 15% higher after one week before falling to 5% below last year's levels at the two-week mark.Munster said that the lead times have since fallen considerably further, which are 31% shorter now.He acknowledged that the decline is concerning, but said some deterioration was expected because Apple's new iPhone Duo could pull consumers away from the Pro lineup."Going into the cycle, I predicted we would see lead times 20% lower than last year given the carrot of the new Duo would pull former Pro buyers up to the Duo," he said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">iPhone 18 Pro Max Holds Up Despite The Duo</h2>While the iPhone 18 Pro has seen lead times fall sharply, the Pro Max has held up much better, Munster observed.On launch day, iPhone 18 Pro Max lead times were 18% longer than the iPhone 17 Pro Max a year earlier. They remained 8% higher after one week and 6% higher after two weeks, he said. Today, they are still roughly in line with last year's levels, according to Munster, who termed this as a “win” for Apple, while noting that he expected the Duo to pull a meaningful portion of last year's Pro Max buyers away from the premium lineup."My guess is a sizable, maybe 20%, of last year's early Pro Max buyers are holding off for the Duo," he said.If that is happening, Munster argues the stable Pro Max lead times could indicate that other iPhone buyers are moving up the product ladder instead.One possibility is that consumers who would normally buy the standard iPhone 18 are choosing the Pro or Pro Max instead because the standard model will not ship until next spring. "In this case, that's a win for the FY27 iPhone revenue," Munster said.That potential mix shift could become increasingly important as investors assess whether Apple's decision to split its iPhone launch cycle is actually working. The combined iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max lead times are currently averaging about three weeks, Munster said, which remains roughly in line with last year's combined figure. At the same time, he said investor sentiment toward the AI boom has become increasingly pessimistic."I've been meeting with investors on the road since September 28th, and investors are very skeptical of this AI boom," Lee said, while adding that many investors now view AI as a bubble.That skepticism could ultimately become a contrarian catalyst if upcoming developments fail to validate the bearish narrative, he added.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Why Lee Thinks AI Earnings Could Change The Mood</h2>Lee expects third-quarter (Q3) earnings to provide an important test for the AI trade and potentially restore investor confidence."I'm going to be in a camp that third-quarter earnings… it’s going to restore the confidence of AI," Lee said.The setup is particularly important because concerns about AI have increasingly centered on the amount of capital being committed to the technology, the cost of funding that spending and whether the returns will justify it.Lee doesn't necessarily see the concentration of AI investment as a warning sign. “I'd rather see a few companies driving the spending,” he said.In his view, having a relatively small number of dominant companies leading AI investment can actually demonstrate where competitive advantages and economic moats are being created.Lee also expects the upcoming U.S. midterm elections to remove some of the political uncertainty surrounding AI stocks. Once the elections are behind investors, Lee believes political pressure on AI companies could ease, even if Democrats take control of the Senate.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Why Lee Says Rates May No Longer Be A Threat To Stocks</h2>The other major piece of Lee's bullish case is interest rates. With Treasury yields elevated, bonds and Treasury inflation-protected securities are increasingly competing with equities for investor capital.But Lee believes the rate surge may be approaching a point where it becomes difficult for yields to move substantially higher."We're reaching sort of the peak point there," Lee said.He pointed to record commercial short positions in Treasuries and the economic impact of elevated borrowing costs as reasons to believe the rate move could be nearing its limits.Higher rates are already weakening capital demand, Lee said, because some companies can no longer justify issuing debt at current levels. Shares of&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/CCI">Crown Castle Inc.</a> (CCI) soared nearly 16% in the regular session, and edged up by 0.1% in the afterhours trade.<h2 class="st-heading-2">SpaceX Could Add A New Customer To Cell Towers</h2>Rezaei said&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/spcx-spectrum-deal-raises-asts-value-telecom-stocks/cZxTkNERBnp">the SpaceX deal</a> could effectively introduce a new carrier to an industry that has long relied on three major customers: AT&amp;T Inc. (T), T-Mobile US Inc. (TMUS) and Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ)."We suddenly have a new carrier on the tower companies," Rezaei said.She added that this could be significant because the economics of the tower business become increasingly attractive as additional carriers lease space on existing infrastructure."Once you've built up the tower, every incremental tenant that you add is very, very profitable," Rezaei said.According to Rezaei, the potential addition of SpaceX as a customer could translate into a roughly 10%-15% increase in recurring revenue for tower companies.The key question, however, is which tower operator is best positioned to capture that opportunity.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Rezaei Explains Why CCI Could Be The Biggest Winner</h2>Rezaei pointed to Crown Castle Inc. (CCI) as the strongest beneficiary of SpaceX's wireless ambitions, largely because of its exposure to the U.S. market."Crown is the best beneficiary today," Rezaei said.Unlike American Tower Corp. (AMT) and SBA Communications Corp. (SBAC), which have significant international operations, Crown Castle is a U.S.-only pure play."Crown is pure-play U.S., so they're just proportionately rewarded here," Rezaei said.Rezaei currently has a $96 price target on Crown Castle and a $214 target on American Tower.<h2 class="st-heading-2">SPCX May Actually Be Validating The Cell Tower Model, Says Rezaei</h2>Rezaei argues SpaceX's latest move into wireless points to the opposite of what investors have feared for years. Rather than undermining traditional terrestrial wireless infrastructure, Starlink's expansion could reinforce the need for cell towers, she said.“Towers have been extremely depressed,” Rezaei said, pointing to concerns that satellite technology could eventually “eat terrestrial wireless networks.”“I think the clear answer here is no,” she said.Instead, SpaceX's push into wireless could demonstrate that satellite connectivity and terrestrial networks are complementary rather than competing technologies, Rezaei added.“To us, this is sort of a signal that SpaceX is really endorsing the fact that you need terrestrial wireless networks for mobile to work,” she explained.There is still a major question hanging over the opportunity: whether SpaceX ultimately builds its own terrestrial network.Rezaei said there are three potential paths for SpaceX: it could build its own network, partner with an existing wireless carrier or potentially acquire another company.Of those options, she believes a carrier partnership is the most likely, although the major wireless operators have so far been reluctant to give SpaceX the deal it wants."So what we're all trying to do is, like, a probability weighting of: are they going to build?"
