This comes after a higher-than-expected addition of 56,000 jobs in November, revised downward from the previously reported addition of 64,000 roles.U.S. equities gained in Friday’s trade. Stellantis Stock Drops As It Reportedly Scraps Jeep and Chrysler Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles In US

CNBC reported on Friday, citing a company spokesperson, that the company has decided to end production of the plug-in hybrid Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Chrysler Pacifica starting with the 2026 model year.

SB Energy, a SoftBank Group Company, said that it has secured a $1 billion investment from OpenAI and SoftBank Group to build next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) data centers in the United States.To support the partnership and as demand for AI compute accelerates, OpenAI and SoftBank Group are each investing $500 million into SB Energy, the statement said. UBS analysts predict that a $200 billion purchase of MBS could lead to about 10-25 bps decline in mortgage rates, reducing the present 30-year headline mortgage rate to 6.0%, according to CNBC.Meanwhile, a separate CNBC report noted that TD Cowen anticipates 30-year fixed mortgage rates to come down to about 5.25%. The firm also noted that if the $200 billion mortgage bond purchases happened quickly, rates could be near 5% at the end of the year.Ivy Zelman, executive vice president of research and securities at Zelman, believes that the move will help psychologically.
