JPMorgan downgraded Pegasystems to Neutral from Overweight and cut its price target to $47 from $54, citing higher execution risk and a more challenging path toward the company’s long-term financial targets.
The bank lowered its revenue-growth expectations and said Pegasystems’ fiscal 2028 free-cash-flow target of more than $700 million now depends more heavily on cost discipline and successful execution. Near-term cash flow is also pressured by legal expenses, contract-signing seasonality and slower annual contract value growth.
The downgrade follows a virtual roadshow with Pegasystems’ COO and CFO Ken Stillwell. Management said about 20% of Pega Cloud customers had implemented Infinity 26 roughly 30 days after its general availability, versus an internal goal of 50%-75% by year-end. JPMorgan said this adoption may not be enough to offset broader growth concerns.
