Walmart CEO John Furner said the retailer will not use customers’ personal information to set individualized prices, responding to concerns about dynamic pricing and the growing use of AI in retail. In a Sept. 25 letter to customers and partners, Furner reaffirmed Walmart’s “Everyday Low Prices” policy, which has guided the company for more than 50 years, saying the retailer will price products rather than individual customers. Furner outlined three commitments: Walmart will not charge different prices based on a customer’s identity or the time of day; it will not use information shared through Sparky, its AI shopping assistant, to raise prices or hide cheaper alternatives; and it will continue using customer data responsibly while respecting users’ choices about data sharing. Furner also addressed digital shelf labels being introduced across Walmart stores. $WMT

$WMT looks great here, breaking out of its wedge, up in pre-market, and ready to pump again following back-to-school sales and the Holiday shopping season around the corner. Do not sleep on Walmart in coming months.
