An analyst, however, issued an upbeat commentary regarding the stock, stating that the worst may be behind.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Baird Designates STM Among Fresh Picks</h2>In a note released late Thursday, Baird analyst Tristan Gerra reiterated an ‘Outperform’ rating on STM stock but reduced the price target to $45 from $50. “At current levels, stock embeds all the grief regarding the 1Q GM reset, positioning investors well for an ongoing revenue and gross margin recovery each following quarter throughout 2026,” the analyst said.Gerra also added a “Fresh Pick” designation to the stock, reasoning that the valuation is attractive, as the stock trades at a five-year trough price-earnings (P/E)&nbsp;ratio of 8x. (ASML) as a model for understanding the escalating trade war between the U.S. and China.&nbsp;According to a CNBC&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/15/cramer-this-european-company-is-key-to-understanding-us-china-trade-tensions.html">report</a>, Cramer advised investors seeking to understand trade tensions to consider the Dutch manufacturer of advanced lithography systems, which are essential for chip production.&nbsp;The company reported stronger-than-expected third-quarter (Q3) results, with&nbsp;revenue climbing 0.7% year-over-year (YoY) to&nbsp;€7.526 billion ($8.8 billion).&nbsp;However, the company also warned of a sharp decline in Chinese sales in 2026 due to tightening export restrictions. The U.S. has already imposed limits on advanced chip exports over national security concerns, and the Dutch government has introduced licensing requirements impacting ASML’s ability to sell its most sophisticated extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines to China, the report stated.&nbsp;ASML stock traded over 1% higher on Wednesday afternoon. Jim Cramer Reportedly Highlights ASML’s Central Role In US-China Chip Battle

According to a CNBC report, Cramer advised investors seeking to understand trade tensions to consider the Dutch manufacturer of advanced lithography systems, which are essential for chip production.

Shares of Dutch semiconductor-equipment maker ASML Holding N.V. (ASML)&nbsp;rose over 3.5% in the early premarket session on Wednesday following the company’s quarterly results.Veldhoven, Netherlands-based ASML said third-quarter revenue climbed 0.7% year-over-year (YoY) to 7.526 billion euros ($8.8 billion)&nbsp;even as it&nbsp;declined 2.3%&nbsp;from the prior quarter. The company sold 66 new lithography systems, a decrease from the 67 units sold in the second quarter.&nbsp;Lithography systems aid in creating intricate circuitry for microchips by using light to transfer patterns onto a silicon wafer. ASML supplies these systems to foundries such as Taiwan’s TSMC, which in turn makes chips for the world’s biggest tech companies, such as Apple, Nvidia, and Intel.&nbsp;Net bookings, which refer to customer orders, minus any cancellations and other adjustments, were at 5.4 billion euros, down from 5.54 billion euros in the previous quarter, but up sharply from the year-ago’s 2.63 billion euros.Extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography systems used in the production of the most advanced microchips utilized in high-performance computing, such as artificial intelligence (AI), accounted for 3.6 billion euros of the total net bookings.&nbsp;CEO Christophe Fouquet said, “Our third-quarter total net sales of €7.5 billion and gross margin of 51.6% were in line with our guidance, reflecting a good quarter for ASML.” He, however, warned that ASML’s total net sales in China in 2026 would decline significantly compared to&nbsp;outstanding business there in 2024 and 2025.ASML guided fourth-quarter net sales of 9.2 billion euros to 9.8 billion euros, with a gross margin of 51%-53%. The company expects full-year net sales growth of 15%, in line with the guidance issued in July, and raised its gross margin outlook to 53% from about 52%. ASML Stock Rises Premarket After Q3 Results: Margin Outlook Raised On AI Chip Boom

Swedish telecom company Home Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson’s (ERIC) Nasdaq-listed ADRs are poised to open Tuesday’s session sharply higher, with the stock rising over&nbsp;12% in the early premarket session following the company’s quarterly results.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/ERIC">Ericsson’s ADR</a> has added merely 3.80% for the year-to-date period, underperforming the broader market, as represented by the S&amp;P 500 Index. This marked a sharp rise from the year-ago’s 7.8 billion Kronor. The jump came after the company sold its call routing business iconective, which yielded a one-time capital gain of 7.6 billion Kronor. Adjusted EBITA margin improved to 28.1% from 12.6%.Net sales, however, slipped 4% year-over-year to 56.2 billion Kronor. On an organic basis, sales remained flat. CEO Börje Ekholm said, ”In Q3, we established margins at a new long-term level following strong operational execution over the past few years,” adding that Cloud Software and Services sales grew 9% on an adjusted basis, driven by strong growth in core networks.Looking ahead, Ericsson expects Enterprise organic sales to stabilize in the fourth quarter and the Radio Access Network (RAN) market to remain broadly stable. That said, it warned that increased uncertainty remained, both in terms of potential for further tariff changes as well as in the broader macroeconomic environment.
