$UBS down 12% on the monthly chart. $AMC up 15% on the monthly $GME up 31% on the monthly. UBS is entertaining mergers with forgin banks. I'm no banker, but if another bank sees what UBS is holding in AMC and GME, a merger would be unwise. Follow the money.

$UBS just told clients that Micron $MU has bookings now extending into 2031 because of tight supply! A projected $150 billion free cash flow 2027 and $190B free cash flow for 2028. This is the low estimate based on current projections. $SOXX

Where are the idiots calling Ai peak in 2028? According to $UBS those people are outsiders that have no clue what is going on with the Ai buildout and why its demand is so high. Basically they are the same type of people that thought autos would never replace horses. Just like they now believe robots will never replace humans! They will cry 10 years from now that they missed the greatest technological transformation of their generation. $MU $SOXX

UBS raised its Brent oil price forecasts for 2026 and 2027, warning that Middle East supply disruptions have been more severe than expected and that the recovery in regional flows remains fragile following the collapse of the June U.S.-Iran memorandum. The bank now expects Brent to reach $100 a barrel in Q4 2026, up from its previous forecast of around $80, while raising its 2026 average estimate to $91.57 from $83.74. UBS assumes oil flows will gradually normalize during the first half of 2027, but says the uncertain path toward a broader agreement warrants a higher short-term risk premium. UBS noted that flows through the Strait of Hormuz have recovered significantly in recent weeks, but the improvement has come at a high cost and remains vulnerable to continued Iranian attacks. Further attacks or disruptions could push crude prices to $120 a barrel or higher. $UBS

UBS economists say uncertainty over food prices has become a recurring concern among clients, with potential implications for eurozone inflation and bond yields. Food represents a significant share of the eurozone HICP basket, with processed food accounting for 14% and unprocessed food for 5%. ECB President Christine Lagarde said in September that policymakers were questioning the outlook for food prices after what UBS described as a surprisingly sharp summer slowdown. The ECB cut its food-inflation forecasts by 0.7 percentage points to 1.9% for 2026 and by another 0.7 points to 2.8% for 2027, while warning that summer heatwaves and ongoing El Niño conditions could drive prices higher. The FAO Food Price Index rose 2.5% year over year in August. UBS warned that another food-price shock could create upside risks for eurozone inflation and bond yields, citing research showing that global food-market shocks have previously had a significant impact on regional inflation. $UBS

$UBS At least eight foreign banks have signaled interest in a merger or combination with UBS, per Blick's Sunday report (Reuters), citing an insider. UBS declined to comment. The trigger is Wednesday's Swiss upper-house vote for tougher capital rules: 90% CET1 backing on the bank's foreign subsidiaries. UBS estimates the rule alone adds roughly 16 billion in required capital, near 33 billion including Credit Suisse commitments (Bloomberg). Friday, Semafor reported UBS management had already revived internal discussions about escaping Swiss regulation, including through a foreign-bank combination. Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered were named as possible pairings. The counterweight is Switzerland's finance minister: leaving the Swiss base would be more expensive than the new rules and legally complicated. The tape likes the idea anyway: UBS climbed 2.5% in Zurich on Friday, still off about 12% on the month.
