Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. Unlike Bitcoin, which primarily functions as digital currency, Ethereum operates as a programmable global computer where developers can create any type of decentralized service.   The platform hosts over $14 billion in DeFi applications with hundreds of thousands of active users across financial protocols, NFT marketplaces, and gaming platforms. Its transition to Proof of Stake in September 2022 reduced energy consumption by over 99%, addressing environmental concerns while strengthening network security.  The network operates through thousands of independent validator nodes that process transactions and execute smart contracts on the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Smart contracts are self-executing programs written in Solidity that automatically carry out agreements when conditions are met, eliminating intermediaries like banks or brokers.   Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. The asset is increasingly adopted by traditional institutions, with publicly traded companies adding ETH to corporate treasuries to generate staking yields while maintaining blockchain exposure, and in 2024, the SEC approved spot Ethereum ETFs, allowing traditional investors to gain exposure through conventional brokerage accounts.  Ethereum's roadmap focuses on dramatically increasing transaction capacity to over 100,000 per second, reducing confirmation times, and enhancing decentralization while maintaining security against future threats like quantum computing.

Bitcoin has achieved mainstream adoption through multiple vectors. The January 2024 SEC approval of 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs opened Bitcoin investment to traditional finance participants, and corporations like Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) are using Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset to protect against currency debasement, offering MSTR holders amplified exposure to Bitcoin.   The Bitcoin ecosystem continues to evolve with innovations like Ordinals, which emerged in January 2023 to enable NFT-like functionality directly on Bitcoin, and BRC-20 tokens, an experimental standard for creating fungible tokens using Ordinal inscriptions. CoreWeave Inks Deal With Perplexity – CRWV Stock Gains 6% Pre-Market, On Track To Arrest Post Earnings Slump

Analysts on average expected a loss of $0.06 per share.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Higher Revenue Growth Expected In Second Half Of FY2026</h2>In a call with analysts, CFO John Markovich said the company expects higher revenue growth in the second half of this year than in the first half.“We anticipate that most system sales transactions will involve a multiyear service and maintenance revenue component, and some may include a multi-year lead cloud access component with respect to the recently announced $10 million enterprise Shkas agreement. This revenue will be recognized readily over a two-year time frame commencing in the current quarter. He needs to find materials that he can build these ships from that can withstand blast-off and return to Earth's orbit multiple times.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;That said, I think we have to go into this with a great deal of humility, because it's very hard to predict how these cutting-edge markets will develop over time.Over the past year, you’ve partnered with organizations including NASA and the Royal Navy. Which verticals are showing the most promise today?So our first commercialized product is our quantum clocks. The clocks which the world uses today to synchronize and operate critical infrastructure, ranging from RF networks to the electricity grid to data centers. They are basically part of this incredible GPS system that uses pretty precise clocks on satellites that orbit the Earth. But those clocks need to synchronize with these massive room-sized clocks on the Earth’s surface.The problem is that GPS is getting spoofed and denied more and more. The timing stamp isn't as reliable as it used to be. Our clocks provide better than GPS standard timing.The fact that these clocks are 100 to 1000 times more precise actually allows better performance of the underlying infrastructure, because better synchronization means you can eek more performance out of your infrastructure. So huge applications in the data center where everyone is trying to increase the performance of their underlying GPUs and get more out of the infrastructure that they have.If you look at the next-most-commercialized product in our portfolio, it’s our quantum RF antennas. We can turn atoms into antennas, and these atoms can receive the entire electromagnetic spectrum. There are obvious use cases in covert communications, the intelligence community, the Department of War, and all sorts of different military applications, but there's a very interesting, counterintuitive one in the high-frequency trading world.We can shrink massive antennas down to something very small, and that’s something that can be done for a fraction of the cost. Those huge antennas cost millions of dollars.&nbsp;&nbsp;Which segment currently generates the largest share of your revenue, and how do you expect that mix to evolve going forward?So, we did $29 million in revenue in 2024, and we were booked or awarded $50 million in 2025. Looking at 2024 revenue, it was skewed toward our sensing portfolio, but we also had a reasonable amount of compute revenue.&nbsp;As we look forward, I think we'll still see the majority of the opportunity for revenue generation, meaning greater than 50%, in the quantum sensing world. It will start to shift, though, toward quantum computing as quantum computers become commercially useful.Looking ahead, what types of partnerships will be most critical in shaping your company’s growth, and can you highlight a few key collaborations?Partnerships will remain an important part of our strategy going forward. And I'd think of them in a few different buckets – first, just with our customers. The U.S. and UK governments are very close partners, as we work with them to deploy our technologies and help them develop new ones.We announced a partnership with Safran. We are going to work with them to integrate some of their time transfer protocols that they've developed, so we can transfer time from our boxes more efficiently and also take advantage of the existing distribution networks they have.NVIDIA is another partnership I would highlight, and I'd also mention some U.S. government partners, but NASA is obviously an incredibly important partner for us as we continue to work to send more quantum into space.As the company scales, what are the bottlenecks you have faced, and what do you see as the biggest hurdles going forward?Well, I always think about the potential challenges that technology companies encounter in three buckets. You have technology challenges, execution challenges, and, finally, financing challenges that are also opportunities.I feel like we've got the technology where we need it, and now it's just following our roadmap to reach quantum advantage and computing. We're already there in our sensing portfolio. So, the technology we have faced challenges that effectively put risk off the table.Financing had always been a risk. It is always a risk for deep technology companies. We just took that risk off the table by raising $550 million in this transaction. So now it's all about execution. So that's the challenge we have control over and can execute.By simplifying complex technologies, your company could become an attractive acquisition target amid rising competition. How are you positioning the company to navigate this?Yeah, you mentioned the big players, IBM, Google, and Microsoft, all setting their sights on quantum. And the way I look at that is that it is very validating: the quantum opportunity is real, and these companies are focused on it.I do think you'll see consolidation in this market. It's natural for a deep-tech market to start consolidating at some point. I'm taking the company down this path because I think we have the opportunity to build a generational business here, and that's what I'm focused on. The analyst added that market fears of a weak 2026 for smartphones are "overdone" as the premium segment is unaffected, adding that the post-earnings pullback reflects temporary concerns about smartphones and creates an entry point, while the company’s datacenter segment will contribute meaningfully to growth.Meanwhile, RBC Capital analyst Srini Pajjuri cut the company’s price target to $130 from $140 while maintaining an ‘Outperform’ rating on the shares, as per TheFly. The analyst cited a slower Q4 royalty growth outlook, even though the management sounded confident about sustaining 20% growth in FY27, the analyst said in a research note, as per TheFly.BofA lowered Arm’s price target to $115 from $120 and maintained a ‘Neutral’ rating on the shares, citing the company’s results that showed in-line to modestly better-than-expected Q3 results and Q4 guidance.Mizuho also lowered the firm's price target to $160 from $190 and kept an ‘Outperform’ rating on the shares. The analyst said that it views Arm's growth as solid, and recommended buying the post-earnings pullback in the company’s shares.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Earnings Update</h2>Arm posted a 26% year-on-year growth in quarterly revenues, clocking $1.24 billion in Q3 2025, and beating street expectations of $1.23 billion. ARM Shares Garner Street Attention After Q3 Earnings — What’s The Consensus?

New Street, RBC Capital, Bank of America, and Mizuho were among analysts who revised their outlook and price targets on Arm Holdings after it posted third-quarter (Q3) 2025 earnings on Wednesday. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Arm’s third quarter revenue grew 26% year-on-year to $1.24 billion, representing record quarterly revenue.</li><li>The company said it expects Q4 revenue in the range of $1.42 billion to $1.52 billion, analysts on average are expecting the revenue of $1.44 billion.&nbsp;</li><li>Arm in its earnings call said that SoftBank is "not interested" in selling any shares of Arm stock.</li></ul>Shares of Arm Holdings fell more than 8% in extended hours of trading on Wednesday as investors were spooked by higher operating expenses.The company posted $716 million in adjusted operating expenses during the quarter, a 37% rise from a year-ago quarter.Arm in its earnings call said that SoftBank (SFTBY) is "not interested" in selling any shares of Arm stock.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Strong Quarter</h2>Arm’s third quarter revenue grew 26% year-on-year to $1.24 billion, representing record quarterly revenue and its fourth consecutive billion dollar revenue quarter. Analysts on average were expecting revenue of $1.23 billion.&nbsp;It said its royalty revenue grew a robust 27% year-over-year to a record of $737 million driven by growth across our target end markets, including AI and general purpose data center, smartphones, physical AI and edge AI.&nbsp;“Arm delivered a record revenue quarter as demand for AI computing on our platform continues to accelerate” said Rene Haas, CEO. “Record royalty results in the third quarter reflect the growing scale of our ecosystem, as customers design the Arm compute platform into next-generation systems across cloud, edge, and physical environments to deliver high-performance, power-efficient AI. Why Is Arm Stock Falling 8% After Hours?

In March 2025, Kerrisdale Capital issued a short report on the manufacturer of high-performance quantum computers.Kerrisdale then said that IONQ is far from the cusp of a “new era of commercial success” due to its limited error-prone systems.
