$MFA Don't forget, while us longs are being impatient for news, the delay is really helping us. 5M shorts need shares, if dividend remains unchanged. It will take them 3-4 days to get out, at same time people will be buying back in for the dividend. If dividend is unchanged, these shares will pop 5% instantly....and if they announce when we are 3-4 days away, that adds pressure because shorts do not want to pay .36 dividend. The flip side......dividend gets cut then I have no idea what others will do, but I will ride it out and wait for Q4.....once bad debt is written off and dividend restored.

$MFA Just a reminder, the ex-date for this one is Monday, Oct. 5, and it’ll pay 36 cents per share.

$MFA should have learnt my lesson from 2022 rate hike cycle and sold it all many months ago knowing that trump induced inflation was going to cause another rate increase cycle.

$MFA Something that could be interesting......is all the shorts that borrowed shares and sold short are responsible for paying the dividend. If they decide to keep dividend the same, this could cause a quick short cover rally. Think I read shorts will have 4 days to cover......we have 8 trading days left, so if BoD's are delaying just to trip up shorts, could be interesting. All the shorts are hoping they cut dividend and the stock tanks so they can cover before Sept. 30, but if management waits until Thursday to announce dividend, and they keep it the same....all them shorts will be forced to buy shares to cover in short time frame or risk not only losing money to rising stock price, but also paying the dividend. Bottom line, we are divided in 2 opposite groups. 1 group is those who think dividend will stay same, 2nd group is those who think dividend will be cut. It should be interesting week either way.

i finally split $MFA b and mfa c on my spreadsheet and found a guesstimate calculation error by a couple hundred bucks. also found same mistake trying to estimate $CIM a and B in the same cell. added another 50 $EFC up to $65,111 in expected divs. sitting on 10k cash.

$MFA I’m guessing this is why this dropped so much today: Craig Knutson to Retire as Chief Executive Officer Effective June 30, 2027; Will Remain on the Board of Directors Following Retirement Bryan Wulfsohn Appointed Chief Executive Officer Effective July 1, 2027; Will Join the Board of Directors Effective January 1, 2027 Andrew Kail to join as Chief Investment Officer Effective January 1, 2027

$MFA so are we getting a dividend on commons this quarter? I’m buying at these levels. Hope they get this shit figured out. Wonder if they just trying to shake us out.?.?.?

$MFA Over the past 5 years, MFA has gone ex dividend on, or a few days prior to the last day of each quarter they pay their dividends. That’s Mar, June, Sept and Dec. I believe there needs to be 10 calendar days between announcement and record date ( the same as ex date now). They actually have to announce it to the exchange (not public). Still, as there are 30 days in September and today is the 20th, unless they did report to the nyse on Friday, and it simply wasn’t made public, they will not continue that trend. Might be just an administrative snafu, or it could be very bad. Either way, hopefully we get clarity tomorrow.

$MFA not good. The slowe death continues and no word of an ovedue dividend announcement.
