Litecoin is a cryptocurrency that has evolved from Bitcoin after its own popularity in the industry, this alternative, or ‘altcoin’ has emerged to allow investors to diversify their digital currency package, according to Investopedia. Litecoin is one of the most prominent altcoins and was created by former Google employee and Director of Engineering at Coinbase, Charlie Lee. Litecoin was the first to alter Bitcoin and the most significant difference is that it takes 2.5 minutes for Litecoin to generate a block, or transaction, in comparison to Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  ‘While this matters little to traders, miners who use hardware to run Bitcoin's network cannot switch over to Litecoin. This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

The strategy also includes boosting home acquisitions by at least 35%, enhancing pricing accuracy and resale speed, and cutting costs.<blockquote>“Our business will succeed by building technology that makes selling, buying, and owning a home easier and more joyful,” CEO Kaz Nejatian said in a statement, stressing that Opendoor should be seen as a “software and AI company.”</blockquote><h2 class="st-heading-2">Results and Outlook</h2>However, its quarterly performance and forecast were a dampener. Sales in the third quarter declined 34% to $915 million, and net loss widened to $90 million from $78 million. Homes sold, purchased, and under contract decreased.The company expects quarterly revenue and contribution margins to decline quarter over quarter in Q4, due to low inventory levels resulting from reduced acquisition volumes in Q3. Adjusted operating loss is expected to be in the high $40 million to mid-$50 million range.“Our results in the upcoming quarter are largely the outcome of us managing decisions that were made several months ago. If not, the stock could see a sharp pullback, just as it did after the soft Q2 results in&nbsp;August.For the third quarter, analysts expect the real estate services company to report a 36% decline in revenue to $882.3 million, its steepest&nbsp;drop since the first quarter of 2024, according to Koyfin. Notably, short interest is down just a percentage point from its mid-September peak to 21.90% as of Wednesday.Last month, Morgan Stanley raised its price target on OPEN to $2 from $6 and reiterated its 'Market Perform' rating. "While we see limited fundamental justification for OPEN's recent outperformance, we also see the opportunity for a pivot back to home-buying (and significant operating leverage) should there be a stronger housing market recovery," the firm's analysts said in an investor note.In terms of the stock price, they noted that "similar situations with other stocks have shown that higher valuations are not only often more sustainable than expected, but also create the opportunity for companies to raise capital and address challenges with the support of an enthusiastic shareholder base."Currently, five of the nine analysts covering OPEN's stock have a 'Hold' rating, three have 'Sell' or lower, and one rates it 'Strong Buy,' according to Koyfin data. Riley’s Art Hogan advises caution, says the same "gang” pumps such meme stocks before broader market dynamics rationalize the price.</li><li>Retail traders are still upbeat, with sentiment for the ticker on Stocktwits holding firm in the 'extremely bullish' zone.</li></ul> Beyond Meat, Inc. appears to be losing the boost from the meme-driven frenzy that&nbsp;catapulted its price this week,&nbsp;and&nbsp;a wealth management expert feels that trading&nbsp;the stock at this point could be dangerous.“It's not something I would play,” Art Hogan, chief market strategist at B. And maybe with the capital you raise, you can reinvent your business model,” said Hogan.&nbsp;</blockquote>For investors, Hogan said the short squeeze, which is easily identifiable given the over 50% short interest in BYND stock, typically does not end well.&nbsp;“It's a classic short squeeze, but it's done by a gang, right?” he said, referring to a group of power investors that typically attempt to boost stocks on social media.“So you get the gang of investors together.
