The community is divided between seeing a serious long-term threat to carrier growth and viewing the reaction as an overreaction given SpaceXs need to build out infrastructure and T-Mobiles established network and customer base.

Cardano is a blockchain platform built on academic research that enables smart contracts and decentralized applications while using significantly less energy than traditional cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.   What sets Cardano apart is its methodical, research-driven approach — every major feature is peer-reviewed by scientists and cryptographers before being added to the network. This careful process aims to create a more secure and stable foundation compared to platforms that prioritize speed over thorough testing. The platform's native cryptocurrency, ADA, is used to send money, pay transaction fees, and participate in network governance.  Cardano uses a proof-of-stake system to process transactions, which works differently from Bitcoin's mining approach. Instead of competing to solve complex puzzles, users can "stake" their ADA — essentially locking it up temporarily — to become validators who verify transactions. The system selects validators based on how much ADA they've staked and for how long, then rewards them with additional ADA for their participation. This approach uses far less energy than traditional mining while keeping the network secure. The platform also features a two-layer design that separates basic payment transactions from smart contract operations, allowing each function to be optimized independently for better performance.   ADA holders can earn staking rewards by locking up their tokens to help secure the network, vote on proposed changes to the platform, and use ADA for international money transfers with lower fees than traditional services.  Cardano was founded in 2017 by Charles Hoskinson, who previously helped create Ethereum. Hoskinson leads Input Output Global (IOG), the technology company that builds and maintains Cardano's core software. The ecosystem operates through three organizations: IOG handles technical development, the Cardano Foundation promotes adoption and standardization, and Emurgo helps businesses integrate blockchain technology into their operations. This structure distributes responsibilities across multiple groups rather than concentrating control in a single entity.   In February 2025, major asset manager Grayscale Investments filed to create an exchange-traded fund (ETF) for Cardano with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which would allow traditional investors to buy ADA through their regular brokerage accounts without needing to set up cryptocurrency wallets.

Polkadot may be considered equivalent to a set of independent chains (e.g. a set containing Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Namecoin and Bitcoin) except with important additions: pooled security and trust-free interchain transactability.  Many of the native parachains of Polkadot will be written using a Polkadot Runtime Environment SDK (e.g. Parity Technologies' Substrate).

The platform utilizes the Move programming language to create a safe framework and supports horizontal scaling to keep fees stable and speeds high as the network grows. Significant institutional support comes from major venture capital firms including Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase Ventures, Circle Ventures, and YZi Labs.  The system functions by organizing data into independent objects rather than a single ledger of accounts. This object-centric data model enables parallel execution, allowing the network to process many transactions simultaneously instead of waiting for one to finish before starting the next. This architecture is built for rapid transaction finalization to ensure near-instant results. To maintain long-term stability, the network collects fees into a storage fund that rewards validators for keeping data on the network indefinitely.  Sui offers several advanced tools including zkLogin for easier account access and sponsored transactions that allow users to interact with apps without managing complex wallets or immediate fees. Developers can also create tailored object types that work across the entire network, which encourages innovation and deep composability. These features are designed to create a more user-friendly experience for interacting with decentralized applications and digital games.  The SUI token is central to the ecosystem, serving as the primary asset for transaction fees and on-chain utility within decentralized exchanges and lending platforms. Users participate in a proof-of-stake mechanism by locking their tokens to support validators and secure the blockchain in exchange for rewards. Additionally, token holders have a role in governance, allowing them to participate in voting on network rules and future protocol upgrades. Value moves through the system through these staking rewards and transaction fees to ensure the platform scales sustainably

SUI is drawing attention amid volatile price action and bullish talk around reported Samsung USDC support and Suis Google Cloud work on AI-agent infrastructure. Traders see those developments and the networks throughput as adoption positives, while others remain wary of token unlocks, tokenomics, and SUIs uneven performance.

StarkNet is a permissionless decentralized Layer 2 (L2) validity rollup, built to allow Ethereum to scale via cryptographic protocols called STARKs, without compromising Ethereum’s core principles of decentralization, transparency, inclusivity and security. The StarkNet Token is needed to operate the ecosystem, maintain and secure it, decide on its values and strategic goals, and direct its evolution. This token will be required for (i) governance, (ii) payment of transaction fees on StarkNet, and (iii) participation in StarkNet’s consensus mechanism.

$ICCC i have owned this for a long time, some shares when it was 3.  I bot because of re-tain, when they gave up on approval I thought the stock would crash, but it was trading so strong at the time I kept it.   The trading now is a lot different, huge spreads and very little volume.   Which makes some sense, those that hold don't want to sell, but there isn't a compelling reason to buy a lot higher, so there is a trickle of shares for sale.   I sold ~1/3 when it was above 11.  Their sales will continue to ramp up for maybe 3 or more quarters, if re-tain looks positive, not sure how far up the stock will go.
