Bitcoin Is The ‘Best’ Inflation Hedge, Says Veteran Macro Trader Paul Tudor Jones

The veteran trader has been bullish since 2020, when he first bought Bitcoin as an inflation hedge during pandemic-era stimulus.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>MSTR Executive Chairman Michael Saylor stated that issuing STRC allows the company to raise capital and immediately deploy it into Bitcoin, creating exposure without relying solely on equity issuance.</li><li>Saylor outlined a three-layer financial model consisting of Bitcoin as digital capital, STRC as digital credit, and stablecoin-linked products as digital money.</li><li>He added that STRC could eventually underpin yield across crypto platforms, including exchange-based accounts and stablecoin “savings coins,” positioning it as a core building block in digital finance.</li></ul>Strategy (MSTR) executive chairman Michael Saylor believes that integrating Strategy's preferred stock STRC into public ETFs is the critical next step in expanding demand for Bitcoin (BTC) and amplifying returns for MSTR shareholders.Speaking at the Bitcoin 2026 Conference on Monday, he framed it as part of a deliberate three-layer capital architecture he believes will define digital finance. "I think important integrations are integrating Stretch into public ETFs," Saylor said, describing the third layer of Strategy's stack as "digital money." According to him, the logic is structural. Saylor outlined how selling STRC preferred stock generates upfront Bitcoin gains without diluting common shareholders.&nbsp;"If we sell $10 billion of STRC, we'll generate a $10 billion gain on that upfront. Most of the BTC gain and the yield comes from the credit, not from the equity right now." Every dollar of STRC sold buys Bitcoin. Bitcoin appreciation widens the NAV gap. A wider NAV gap allows MSTR equity to be sold at a premium, generating further amplification.&nbsp;"When we're selling the equity at a premium to the underlying NAV, it turns out to be accretive to the common stock and a benefit to the credit investor," he said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">ETF Demand Builds Around Digital Credit Products</h2>The ETF infrastructure is already forming around STRC. On Monday, Nakamoto's UTXO Management launched a dual-class structured fund targeting STRC at the Bitcoin 2026 Conference, with CIO Tyler Evans noting the market "has matured significantly, but institutional access remains fragmented.Meanwhile, BlackRock's&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/PFF">iShares Preferred &amp; Income Securities ETF (PFF)</a> holds approximately $210 million in STRC as its fourth-largest position.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/ASST">Strive (ASST)</a> and Tuttle Capital&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/vivek-ramaswamy-backed-strive-plans-bitcoin-credit-etf-tied-to-mstr-asst/cZERAC2RIN7">filed</a> for DGCR, the first dedicated digital credit ETF, on March 30, awaiting approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Stablecoins And Exchanges Could Extend STRC Demand</h2>Saylor said crypto exchanges could eventually offer “digital yield accounts” that pay fixed returns on deposits, while stablecoin issuers may use instruments like STRC to generate yield for users.He stated that the final layer targets the $350 billion stablecoin market. According to him, holding Bitcoin has shifted from an "interesting opportunity" to a moral and fiduciary obligation.The billionaire outlined three specific tiers for his "Survival Strategy.” For families, he recommended holding at least six months of financial reserves in Bitcoin to hedge against potential currency devaluation.&nbsp;He thinks businesses should keep enough Bitcoin to cover at least a month's worth of payroll, just in case the banking system gets disrupted. And for governments, having some Bitcoin set aside could really help keep things stable when their currency is under a lot of stress. Speaking at the Bitcoin Conference 2026 in Las Vegas, SEC Chair Paul Atkins said that the agency’s current framework reflected a “1930s-type” system and was not built for today's digital assets.Atkins, the first SEC President to speak at the conference, sat down for a&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIXhrz8zpOo&amp;t=168s">conversation</a> with Digital Chamber founder Perianne Boring, cited legacy disclosure systems and legal definitions that don’t fit blockchain-based markets as reasons behind the struggles. He said that there was a need for reform from that “1930s type of thing,” which would “future-proof what's going forward.”Atkins also pointed to long-standing confusion among regulators, saying that overlap in oversight by the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has historically created uncertainty for crypto firms trying to establish where they fall under the law.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Tokenized Equities In Focus</h2>Atkins also discussed tokenized equities at the conference, describing them as a key area where blockchain could reshape financial markets. The proposal outlines plans to establish Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset, similar in concept to U.S. gold reserves. The earlier version of the bill also included provisions to acquire up to one million Bitcoin over five years using “budget-neutral strategies.”While details of the updated legislation remain limited, Begich said the revised bill would emphasize long-term holding of Bitcoin.
