Bitwise data&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/BitwiseInvest/status/1978221667605176785/photo/1">shows</a> there are almost 40% more public companies holding Bitcoin today than there were three months ago.Regulatory frameworks, including the GENIUS, CLARITY, and Anti-CBDC Acts, have further normalized institutional participation.&nbsp;Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and digital asset treasuries (DATs) provide regulated channels for traditional investors, introducing centralized control and benchmarks to a system originally designed to bypass them.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Decentralization Resists And Evolves</h2>Despite centralization pressures, decentralized exchanges (DEXs) continue to grow. According&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://defillama.com/">to</a> DefiLlama, DEXs recorded a historic monthly trading volume of over $585 billion in October 2025, surpassing the previous peak set in January 2025 during the emergence of meme tokens TRUMP and MELANIA.&nbsp;Meanwhile, macro uncertainty has elevated Bitcoin’s role in the “<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/bitcoin-was-the-only-answer-to-the-debt-crisis-strive-ceo/cLGFCkMR3xl">debasement trade</a>,” with investors using it as a hedge against dollar weakness. It showed that Bitcoin tends to rise when the U.S. dollar weakens and liquidity improves.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Market Growth Reflects Philosophical Shift</h2>More than a decade since the paper was published, Bitcoin’s market capitalization has surged past $2.2 trillion, with the asset reaching all-time highs above $126,000 per coin, earlier this month – driven, in part, by institutional adoption of the apex cryptocurrency. Morgan Stanley (MS) is reportedly expanding access to cryptocurrency investments for all clients, allowing such allocations in any account type, including retirement accounts.According to a CNBC&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/10/morgan-stanley-drops-crypto-fund-restrictions-for-wealth-clients.html#:~:text=Morgan%20Stanley%20on%20Friday%20told,crypto%20funds%20to%20any%20client">report</a>, citing people familiar with the matter,&nbsp; financial advisors were briefed on the policy change on Friday, with the new rules taking effect on October 15.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/MS">Morgan Stanley’s stock</a> edged 0.3% higher in morning trade. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the bank remained in ‘bullish’ territory amid ‘high’ levels of chatter.&nbsp;Previously, crypto investments were restricted to clients with aggressive risk tolerance and at least $1.5 million in assets who opted for taxable brokerage accounts, the report said. Bitcoin regains its footing with a 14% rally as institutional inflows, Fed cut bets and "Uptober" optimism fuel renewed momentum.

Anthony Pompliano, founder and CEO of Professional Capital Management and a prominent crypto investor, said on Tuesday that Bitcoin (BTC) is emerging as the new “hurdle rate” for investors.“Historically, we’ve looked at things like the S&amp;P 500,” he&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hse-H-JUXGY">told</a> CNBC in an interview. “Since 2020, the S&amp;P is up 100%, but priced to Bitcoin, it’s down 90%.”&nbsp;Pompliano added that most traditional finance returns fail to match Bitcoin’s performance, emphasizing the simplicity and scarcity of Bitcoin as key drivers of its appeal. “They are never going to stop printing money, so Bitcoin will never stop going up. Think of Bitcoin as savings technology: work hard, spend less than you earn, and put the extra into Bitcoin,” he said.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s price</a> was trading at around $125,000 in early morning trade on Tuesday after hitting an all-time high of more than $126,000 during the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/bitcoin-price-hits-another-record-high-as-it-surges-past-125800/ch6ROvTR3gt">previous session</a>. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the apex cryptocurrency trended in ‘extremely bullish’ territory amid ‘high’ levels of chatter.Pompliano noted that Bitcoin’s price is likely to keep rising because a growing share of BTC is being moved into illiquid supply, increasing pressure on prices. “Every Bitcoin that I buy, no one’s touching again until I die,” Pompliano said. “As more capital flows in and holders remain unwilling to sell, prices naturally rise to clear the market.”Pompliano also compared Bitcoin to gold, noting the overlapping interests of investors. “Bitcoin and gold are brothers in arms in the fight against currency debasement,” he said. “Gold has outperformed Bitcoin this year, but over the last five years, Bitcoin’s growth has far exceeded gold’s. Bitcoin Becomes New ‘Hurdle Rate’ As Investors Chase BTC Gains, Says Anthony Pompliano

Pompliano told CNBC that Bitcoin’s appeal lies in its scarcity, noting that governments will never stop printing money, so Bitcoin’s price will continue to rise.

Bitcoin (BTC) came within 1% of a fresh all-time high in afternoon trade Friday, lifted by a broader cryptocurrency rally as the U.S. government shutdown entered its third day.<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s price</a> has gained&nbsp;1.75% over the past 24 hours to about $122,300, after touching an intraday peak of $123,996, just 1% shy of its August 14 record of $124,290, according to Coinbase&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.coinbase.com/en-in/price/bitcoin">data</a>.The overall cryptocurrency market rose over&nbsp;3% to over&nbsp;$4.3 trillion. Retail sentiment on Stocktwits around the apex cryptocurrency surged to ‘extremely bullish’ from ‘bullish’ territory over the past day amid ‘high’ levels of chatter. Since the U.S. government&nbsp;entered a shutdown&nbsp;on Wednesday, Bitcoin has gained&nbsp;more than 8%.&nbsp;According to Standard Chartered’s Global Head of Digital Assets Research, Geoff Kendrick, Bitcoin was&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/standard-chartered-sees-bitcoin-reaching-new-record-high-in-a-week/chCujhfR3QR">slated</a> to hit a new record and should rally as high as $135,000. “The shutdown matters this time around,” he wrote. “During the previous Trump shutdown, Bitcoin was in a different place than now, so it did little. However, this year Bitcoin has traded with ‘U.S. government risks’ as best shown by its relationship to U.S. treasury term premium.”Kendrick stated that Bitcoin has deviated from a historical pattern in which prices typically fell about 18 months after a halving. If that had been the case, the April 2024 halving would have been followed by price weakness now, he noted.&nbsp;Bitcoin has a strong track record in October, a month traders have dubbed ‘Uptober,’ with gains in nine of the past 10 years. Standard Chartered said on Friday that Bitcoin (BTC) could reach a new record high within a week and continue climbing toward $135,000.In a&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://decrypt.co/342805/bitcoin-could-reach-135000-soon-standard-chartered">note</a> cited by Decrypt, Geoff Kendrick, Standard Chartered’s Global Head of Digital Assets Research, stated that Bitcoin has deviated from a historical pattern in which prices typically fell about 18 months after a halving. If that had been the case, the April 2024 halving would have been followed by price weakness now, he noted.&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin’s price</a> was trading at around $120,000 in early morning trade on Friday after a massive rally in the previous session. Retail sentiment around the apex cryptocurrency on Stocktwits improved to ‘extremely bullish’ from ‘bullish’ over the past day, with chatter at ‘high’ levels.Bitcoin’s previous peak of $124,000 in August places the cryptocurrency 3% below that level today. A move toward $135,000 would suggest about a 12% upside. Traders often call October ‘Uptober’ due to the month’s historically strong performance.Kendrick also stated that other factors are affecting Bitcoin’s price. “The shutdown matters this time around,” he wrote. “During the previous Trump shutdown, Bitcoin was in a different place than now, so it did little. However, this year Bitcoin has traded with ‘U.S. government risks’ as best shown by its relationship to U.S. treasury term premium.”Institutional demand is expected to play a larger role in the market. Kendrick said, “Net Bitcoin ETF inflows are now at $58 billion, of which $23 billion has been in 2025. Bitcoin was up in the early hours on Monday, but XRP and Ethereum edged lower, ahead of a much-anticipated Federal Reserve meeting in which the central bank is widely expected to reduce its benchmark interest rates.The apex cryptocurrency gained 0.4% to $116,514 over the past 24 hours, while Ethereum slipped 0.6% to $4,661.57, and XRP fell 0.6% to $3.06, at the time of writing, according to CoinGecko data. Among other tokens, Dogecoin was down 4.4% to $0.28, following a rally last week.According to data from SoSoValue, Bitcoin spot ETFs logged their best week since July after raking in $2.34 billion in the week ended on Sept. 12. On Friday, BlackRock’s IBIT ETF attracted $264.7 million while Fidelity’s FBTC ETF saw inflows of $315.2 million.After a tepid start to the month, digital tokens have found a firmer footing as a growing number of companies are adding cryptocurrencies to their balance sheets. This increased buying activity comes ahead of a likely rate cut in the U.S. central bank’s policy-setting meeting on Sept. 16-17.According to the CME Group’s FedWatch tool, over 96% traders have priced in a 25-basis-point cut. Ethereum, XRP Slip; Bitcoin Advances As Institutions Shore Up Reserves Ahead Of Anticipated Fed Rate Cut

Major cryptocurrencies advanced in early trading on Thursday, ahead of the crucial inflation report scheduled for later in the day.Bitcoin was up 2.4% to $114,174 at the time of writing, while Ethereum rose 2.8% to $4,415.34&nbsp;and XRP rose 1.7% to $3 over the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko data. Among other coins, <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SOL.X">Solana</a> was up 1.8% to $222.15, scaling back some of the gains achieved earlier.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;According to data from SoSoValue, Bitcoin spot ETFs logged their best day since July after raking in $757 million of net inflows on Wednesday. <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/FBTC">Fidelity’s FBTC ETF</a> recorded the largest single-day inflow of $299 million, while <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/IBIT">BlackRock’s IBIT ETF</a> attracted $211 million.Ether, the second-largest cryptocurrency in terms of valuation, also saw renewed interest among investors after a tepid start to the month. Ether ETFs record $171 million inflows on Wednesday, with BlackRock’s ETHA booking $74.5 million and Fidelity’s FETH with $49.5 million.“U.S. inflation cooled, job data revised sharply lower, and the Fed may pivot sooner than expected. Crypto markets are responding to the shift in macro tone,” BTC Markets analyst Rachael Lucas said.On Wednesday, official U.S. data showed that the producer price index, a gauge of prices that producers receive for their goods and services in the open market, edged lower by 0.1% in August, after rising 0.9% in July. The tepid data implied a weakening of domestic demand, days after the Bureau of Labor Statistics significantly revised U.S. jobs data.Most traders have priced in a 25-basis-point interest rate cut by the U.S. Federal Reserve next week, according to CME Group’s FedWatch tool.
