$ESPR checking in every now and then. This quarters sales look to be marginally better than the last. Not a big pickup but just touching double digit QoQ. Still very odd that Otsuka makes absolutely no mention of Nexletol in its quarterly reporting. They have line items for things selling $1M per quarter but this is not broken out or mentioned. Feeling less and less like I was ripped off by the buyout and maybe this company was just incompetent.

Game Plan: Buy a position, sell half once it doubles to take your principal off the table, and let the rest ride.

$ESPR $NAMS very nice close at the height of the day on a Friday. NewAmsterdam and Menarini received a positive CHMP opinion in Europe recommending authorization of both obicetrapib monotherapy and the obicetrapib/ezetimibe combination. The European Commission decision is expected in 2H 2026. The NAMS September selloff was not caused by bad NAMS clinical data. It was largely a read-through from Novartis’ failed HORIZON trial of pelacarsen, an Lp(a)-lowering drug. NAMS fell roughly 10% even though obicetrapib is fundamentally an LDL/ApoB-lowering drug, not an Lp(a)-only drug like pelacarsen. Reuters specifically noted that NewAmsterdam’s mechanism is substantially different and that the HORIZON result is not directly applicable to obicetrapib. Anyone now wondering why an investment firm would buy ESPR would be interested in researching the potential of the Obi/ezet combo.
