Dislocation: $EFX and $TRU, 2 of 7,674. Both washed out under the 50-day, RSI in the teens, volume 2×, launchpad. Cause is bi-merge: Fannie and Freddie may drop the third bureau pull as soon as Oct 12. Equifax clears the quality bar. TransUnion does not. #Credit #Stocks

education tie in. when a rule changes, check the whole value chain, not just the obvious victim. vantagescore is owned by the three credit bureaus, so the lazy read off the fico headline is that the bureaus win. $EFX is not confirming it. closed 145.78, premarket bid ask 137 by 141. which is the second lesson. that spread is four dollars wide on barely any prints. a premarket quote that wide is a suggestion, not a price, and i am not calling a direction off it.

$EFX Equifax rose 2.6 percent Friday to 143.41, the same day Barclays cut its price target by 45, to 155 from 200. Up on a cut. The context is the tape. The stock hit a new 52-week low Wednesday at 138.15, about 45 percent below its 258.32 high. BMO cut its target to 160 on September 30, two days before Barclays. Both cuts landed inside a stock the market had already repriced. That is why Friday's reaction matters: it reads like the pessimism was priced in, not like fresh news. Barclays kept its Equal Weight rating and framed the move as business-services sentiment, an earnings preview rather than a company-specific call. Equifax guided full-year EPS of 8.39 to 8.69 back in July. At 143.41, that is about 17 times the midpoint.
