Seagate Technology shares fell nearly 7% after CEO Dave Mosley said at a JPMorgan conference that building new factories “would just take too long,” further adding to broader supply-chain concerns that were already under pressure. Other stocks, including Micron, SanDisk, Western Digital, and other AI-adjacent stocks also declined.</p><p>On the economic front, markets will be looking out for April’s pending home sales reading on Tuesday, and the minutes of the Federal Reserve’s May FOMC meeting, scheduled for release on Wednesday.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Trending Stocks To Watch</h2><p><strong>Dominion Energy (D): </strong>Shares of the energy company shot onto the retail radar after an announcement that NextEra Energy (NEE) would acquire the company in an all-stock deal worth nearly $67 billion. D stock closed up nearly 10% higher on Monday and continued to <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/dominion-stock-clocks-best-day-in-6-years-this-analyst-sees-further-upside-after-nextera-merger/cZXuBAZRemC">climb</a> in the overnight session.</p><p><strong>NextEra Energy (NEE): </strong>The Florida-based company also garnered attention amid the deal, which will create one of the world's largest electric utility companies. The stock, however, closed more than 4% lower, although it was edging higher in after-market hours.</p><p><strong>Duos Technologies Group Inc. (DUOT): </strong>The small-cap tech company fell more than 5% on Monday after its first-quarter <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/duot-stock-q1-earnings-miss-report-ceo-says-50-million-doallar-target-still-within-reach-for-2026/cZXrVwnRemf">results</a> missed Wall Street expectations.</p><p><strong>Nike Inc. (NKE): </strong>The shoe retailer jumped onto the retail radar after the company’s shares slid to a 5<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/nke-nclh-gis-stocks-hit-52-week-lows-today-why-are-these-consumer-firms-crashing/cZXuO3lReZR">2-week low</a> on Monday. Nike stock has declined more than 32% this year amid pressured growth in China and shrinking profit margins.</p><p><strong>T1 Energy Inc. (TE):</strong> The solar and battery manufacturer’s shares surged more than 23% on Monday and continued to climb higher in the overnight session after hedge fund Situational Awareness LP reported a new <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/te-stock-jumps-14-today-this-hedge-fund-bought-10-m-shares-of-t1-energy-in-q1/cZXr1mtRelx">stake</a> in the company.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Broader Market Trends</h2><p>Oil futures declined in the overnight session heading into Tuesday. Brent crude futures expiring in July were down about 2.03%, trading at around $109.82 a barrel, while WTI crude futures expiring in June were 1.22% lower, at $107.44 a barrel at the time of writing.</p><p>Meanwhile, treasury yields on the benchmark 10-year were at 4.603%.</p><p>Asian markets were trading mixed on Tuesday, with the KOSPI, and Nikkei 225 down at the time of writing, while the SSE Composite and Hang Seng indexes were climbing. (D), Transocean Ltd. (RIG), and Borr Drilling Ltd. (BORR) climbed to fresh 52-week highs on Monday as investors rotate into energy stocks amid rising crude oil prices.</p><p>At the time of writing, both Brent and WTI crude prices were trading above $100 a barrel.</p><p>Deal announcements and Wall Street optimism also drove sentiment around the stocks higher. D stock closed up 9.44% and RIG stock surged more than 7.6% at market close. Meanwhile, BORR stock ended the day 5.6% higher.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Dominion Surges On NextEra Deal</h2><p>Shares of Dominion Energy clocked the <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/dominion-stock-clocks-best-day-in-6-years-this-analyst-sees-further-upside-after-nextera-merger/cZXuBAZRemC">steepest climb</a> since March 2020, rising to a 52-week high of $68.97 in intraday trading after an announcement that NextEra Energy (NEE) would acquire the company in an all-stock deal worth nearly $67 billion.</p><p>The merger deal is set to create one of the world's largest electric utility companies amid growing energy-intensive data centers to meet AI demand.</p><p>Following the deal announcement, Dominion received attention on Wall Street, with RBC Capital analyst Stephen D'Ambrisi hiking the price target on the firm to $72 from $66. The analyst kept a ‘Sector Perform’ rating on the shares after the deal announcement, according to TheFly.</p><p>On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/D">D stock</a> improved from ‘bullish’ to ‘extremely bullish’ territory, even as message volumes jumped to ‘extremely high’ levels. The company’s shares have risen more than 20% in the last one year.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Transocean Gains After New Wall Street Position</h2><p>Shares of offshore drilling company Transocean jumped the most in over a month to record a 52-week high of $7.64 in intraday trading. The Swiss company has had a solid year, climbing more than 192% over the past 12 months amid improving sentiment for offshore drilling demand.</p><p>Earlier this month, Transocean posted its first-quarter 2026 earnings, reporting a 19% increase in revenue to $1.08 billion, surpassing analyst estimates. Although the company’s adjusted loss of $0.03 per share missed Street expectations, its strong net income and impressive contract backlog of more than $7.1 billion added to long-term sentiment.</p><p>Moreover, last week, Paul Singer's Elliott Management disclosed a sizable position in the company as of March 31, as per TheFly, signaling confidence in the company’s long-term outlook.</p><p>Meanwhile, on Stocktwits, retail sentiment around <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/RIG">RIG shares</a> improved from ‘bullish’ to ‘extremely bullish’ territory over the past day, even as message volumes jumped to ‘extremely high’ levels.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Borr Drilling Climbs On Oil Rally</h2><p>The “jack-up” rigs company jumped to a 52-week high of $6.66 ahead of its first-quarter (Q1) earnings results due on Wednesday. Rising crude oil prices, as well as strong growth indicators amid plans to acquire five new jack-up rigs and a series of new contract wins, have added to sentiment.</p><p>Analysts expect the Hamilton, Bermuda-based company to report a 16.5% increase in quarterly revenues to $252.36 million, according to Fiscal.ai. Meanwhile, consensus estimates forecast Borr Drilling to report a loss per share of $0.04.</p><p><a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/BORR">BORR shares</a> have rallied more than 284% in the last one year. (D) closed up 9.44% on Monday, the steepest climb since March 2020, after NextEra Energy (NEE) announced an agreement to acquire the company in an all-stock deal.</p><p>The Richmond, Virginia-headquartered company’s stock jumped onto the retail radar, with messages jumping by more than 1,866% on Stocktwits over 24 hours, according to platform data.</p><p>Dominion also received attention on Wall Street, with RBC Capital hiking the price target on the firm.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Wall Street On Dominion</h2><p>RBC Capital analyst Stephen D'Ambrisi hiked the price target on Dominion to $72 from $66 and kept a ‘Sector Perform’ rating on the shares after the deal announcement, according to TheFly. The rate hike implies an upside of 6.6% from its last close.</p><p>The analyst said the hike comes after the formal announcement of NextEra Energy's (NEE) all-stock acquisition of Dominion at an implied $77 per share, and reflects the current implied deal consideration.</p><p>As per data from Koyfin, 19 analysts covering the stock have a 12-month average price target of $66.53 on D stock at present, about 1.5% lower than the company’s last close. Of these, 16 analysts have a ‘Hold’ rating on the shares, while three have a ‘Buy’ rating.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Dominion-NextEra Deal Contours</h2><p>On Monday, Dominion Energy said that it would <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/asts-stock-short-interest-brazil-approval-triggers-rise/cZXri6URelt">merge</a> with NextEra Energy in an all-stock deal to create the world's largest regulated electric utility business, serving 10 million customers across four southeastern states.</p><p>Under the deal, Dominion Energy shareholders will receive a fixed exchange ratio of 0.8138 NextEra Energy shares for each share of Dominion Energy, and will own about 25.5% of the combined company. After the deal, the combined company will trade under the ticker symbol NEE.</p><p>The deal is expected to close in the next 12 to 18 months.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Dominion Stock: Retail Stance</h2><p>On Stocktwits, <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/D">D stock</a> was trending at the time of writing. Retail sentiment jumped from ‘bullish’ to ‘extremely bullish’ territory over 24 hours, as message volumes surged from ‘high’ to ‘extremely high’ levels.</p><p>One user said NextEra acquired Dominion at a “bargain price of $65-66 from where it was a few years back at $87.” The user added that NextEra will maximize shareholder value with the acquisition.</p><p><stembedurl>https://stocktwits.com/Wallstfan/message/653722187</stembedurl></p><p>Another bullish user predicted that the company’s shares would rise to $70.
