$TRX Tanzania's National Mine Closure Committee is reviewing AngloGold's updated closure plan for their Geita mine. Multi-agency: VP's Office, Minerals, Water, NEMC, Land Use Planning, Mining Commission, Geita District. No closure date given, framed as proactive planning. But a state doesn't convene nine bodies around an updated closure plan for a mine with decades left. Speculation from here: Geita District eventually loses its anchor employer, and the government has every reason to want a successor producing at scale in the same district. TRX's Buckreef mine sits there. Headcount near 1,000 against just 25 people five years ago, and on Oct 2 TRX signed a VETA educational partnership training locals in underground mining, processing and heavy equipment. $TRX The glass broke last week: the 30-year closed above 5.5% for the first time since 2004. The textbook says higher yields hurt gold, because a bar pays no coupon. But this yield isn't rising on growth. It's rising despite Treasury doubling its long-end buybacks, on a debt path the IMF puts at 142% of GDP by 2031. When a lender demands more to hold your 30-year promise, the asset that isn't anyone's promise starts to look different.

$TRX thinking out loud on a Sunday afternoon, and thought I'd entertain you all with my thoughts... We don't need a takeout bid to get to$40 by 2031. Potentially having at least 3 mineheads and as many as 5 by then, we'd need to eventually expand the plant to at least 9,000 tpd. At 2.0 g/t, 92% recovery = 186koz/yr. Gold at 8,500 (middle of the $7.5-9k street consensus for 2030), assuming AISC 2,000. That's $1.21B gross margin, $846M after Tanzanian tax, $711M attributable at 84/16. Here's the part people miss. Buybacks funded through intercompany loan repayment avoid the 10% dividend withholding and don't trigger the STAMICO equity waterfall. Dividends do both. So you retire stock cheap first, then pay out later against a smaller float. 327M shares today. Substantial issuer bids from 2028 get you toward 250M shares left. That's then $2.56/share of distributable cash annually. 50% payout = $1.28/share. At a 3% yield that's $43. Even 4% gets you $32.

$TRX great news today on my fav gold stock TRX Gold Corporation dropped two big pieces of news today: * 🥇 Record Q4 production: 8,173 oz, up 28% YoY * 📈 Full-year production: 29,650 oz, up a whopping 57%, hitting the top end of guidance. * 🏭 They’re moving ahead with the 3,500 tpd mill, alongside upgrades to the existing 2,000 tpd plant. That’s the major longer-term production-growth story. * 🏆 TRX is being added to the MVIS Global Junior Gold Miners Index. The rebalance happens Sept. 18 and the new composition becomes effective Sept. 21. That can bring additional index/fund buying.
