Insulin is a peptide. So are GLP-1s. So are a lot of compounds being sold in wellness clinics right now. "Peptide" tells you what a molecule is made of. It doesn't tell you whether it's safe or whether it works. That's what clinical trials are for. LTI-03 is a peptide too, and we're testing it the only way that counts, in a randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 2 trial in IPF. Our CSO Cory Hogaboam explains the difference here. $RNTX

A few highlights from a busy week in Europe: six cities of investor meetings spreading the word about Rein, followed by the European Respiratory Society Congress in Barcelona. The takeaway was clear: the need for better therapies for people living with IPF remains significant. We’re focused on advancing LTI-03 through our Phase 2 RENEW trial. Stay tuned for updates later this year. $RNTX

$RNTX I’m in for 30k shares as a starter today. I’ll add another 30-40k slowly over the next week or so. I think this has potential to move.

One of the simplest questions in IPF is also one of the most important: Does the lung keep working? Our CSO, Cory Hogaboam, has spent more than 25 years studying lung fibrosis. In this short video, he explains how he thinks about lung function, FVC, and what we ultimately hope to learn from our Phase 2 RENEW trial. $RNTX

$RNTX LTI-03 conceptually reminds me of $ABVX’s obefazimod: target a downregulated signal of homeostasis in a disease state to tamp down on inflammation and fibrosis, but in this case dosing with an inhaled peptide instead of increasing production of a microRNA. Huge binary risk here for the phase 2 data but I love the mechanism and appreciate that their preclinical data is in precision cut lung slices and not mice. I’m taking a position here but not with any money I’m not willing to lose - just a fun gamble.

$RNTX I am interested to see how this company’s phase 2 data will look for IPF. Promising MoA here.
