$ONCY this conspiracy theory is financially illiterate and fundamentally flawed. Illiterate because to get a tax loss from a short position, the stock price has to go UP against the short. This logic is self contradictory, claiming hedge funds are suppressing the price to harvest losses, but suppressing a stock price creates taxable profits for shorts. Fundamentally flawed because oncy is a micro cap stock with a sub 100m marketcap and modest daily volume. Hedge funds simply cannot move institutional sized tax loss capital through oncy without triggering massive slippage, borrow fee spikes, and illiquidity issues.
