($MNPR)Shares of Monopar skyrocketed over 350% by mid-day Thursday after the Wilmette, Illinois-based micro-cap biotech announced an agreement with AstraZeneca plc’s ($AZN) Alexion rare disease subsidiary to exclusively in-license the latter’s ALXN-1840.&nbsp;The drug candidate is a Phase 3 asset and is being investigated for treating Wilson disease, a&nbsp; rare and progressive genetic condition in which the body’s pathway for removing excess copper is compromised.&nbsp;The agreement calls upon Monopar paying an upfront cash payment and giving AstraZeneca an equity stake.
