$LQMT The iPhone DUO isn't shipping or hitting stores until October 23rd. So by the end of October people will be posting teardown videos confirming the use of LiquidMetal in the hinge. We know it's in there, but it becoming "official" should move the stock back up. Add to that the possibility of Liquid Metal announcing they're finally opening their factory in November during the conference call, and we are looking at two nice catalysts upward. We shall see. 😉

Chinese firms fill secondary positions: Eontec supplies Liquidmetal hinge spindles, and Jiangsu Gian Technology handles metal-injection-molding parts. “Chinese firms have achieved deep integration in Apple’s foldable display supply chain, but still mainly play a secondary supporting role in core links,” Zhou said. Foldable designs raise the value of structural components well above conventional phones. Lens Technology is shipping ultra-thin glass, colorless polyimide film, support plates, and 3D covers. Eontec is expanding Liquidmetal capacity, with a new Dongguan plant due in the first half of next year and a Zhuzhou facility entering trial production. Lingyi iTech is providing hinge-chain parts, support plates, vapor chambers, and battery-case modules."

$LQMT Amphenol itself publicly lists foldable hinges using liquid-metal components among its capabilities. Its product information describes a foldable hinge using MIM/CNC components including stainless steel, 18Ni250, FS53, carbon fiber and liquid metals. And EONTEC told investors in August that its liquid-metal hinge-spindle business with Amphenol was stable, with production and delivery operating normally. Most importantly, yesterday (Sept. 21) EONTEC again confirmed its ongoing Amphenol business and said deliveries are being made according to customer orders.

$LQMT also, people keep saying Apple bought the patents so LQMT doesn’t get money. That’s only partially true. They did buy some patents. That doesn’t mean those patents are the only ones being used and it also doesn’t mean LQMT will not be getting paid to manufacturer the parts. When has Apple ever manufactured any of their own parts?

$LQMT I can't even believe it has fallen this far but like many of us (or most of us) we thought it would be a watershed moment with the Apple release. Still a valuable company with a valuable product but being down 50% is craptastic.

$LQMT Let's say you own your shares at .15 3 options: 1)Sell 2)Hold 3) average down: Ie, If you own at a cost of .15 double down here, your new cost is .1275 So, if you don't average down you miss an option to sell at .1275 if the thesis changes or you need money for another investment... $LQMT thank you whomever is selling. Nothing happened during the Apple event that changed the thesis. Apple didn’t say the hinge was made out of any other material. This is simply a shakeout. I’ve acquired a lot more today. When earnings come out in November and there is still no revenue, then I’ll be concerned. Also since the phone isn’t shipping until October, Q3 revenue shouldn’t be huge but we should see at least a bump indicating orders are starting
