Stock futures in the U.S. ticked higher after-hours following President Donald Trump’s announcement of an extended ceasefire with Iran. However, the president said that despite the extension, military blockade in the Strait would continue.</p><p>"Based on the fact that the Government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so and, upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our Attack on the Country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal," Trump said in a <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/116444507618729432">post</a> on Truth Social.</p><p>"I have therefore directed our Military to continue the Blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the Ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other,” he added.</p><p>Meanwhile, Iran has reportedly said that it won’t attend the talks with the U.S., calling it a “waste of time.” Previously, Iran <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/iran_un/status/2046671553572814980?s=46">asked</a> the United Nations to intervene in the matter related to the seizure of one of its vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, calling the move by the U.S. "a clear and material breach" of the ceasefire between the nations, while also demanding that the U.S. release the vessel, the crew, and the families captured aboard.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Trending Stocks To Watch</h2><p><strong>Poet Technologies (POET): </strong>Shares of the company surged on Tuesday, climbing higher in after-hours trading following CFO Thomas Mika’s dismissal of short-seller Wolfpack’s report on its status as a Passive Foreign Investment Company in an <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/poet-cfo-confirms-orders-from-marvell-waiting-on-foxconn-luxshare/cZBINvkRI65">exclusive interview with Stocktwits</a>. WTI crude futures expiring in May were down about 0.07% to $89.61 a barrel, and Brent crude futures expiring in June were down about 0.02% to $98.46 a barrel.</p><p>Meanwhile, treasury yields on the benchmark 10-year were at 4.288% at 8.32 PM ET, while gold traded around $4,744.09 an ounce after climbing about 0.7%.</p><p>Asian markets were mixed in Wednesday’s opening trade, with the KOSPI and Nikkei 225 lower, while the Shanghai Composite opened in the green. Dow, Nasdaq, S&P 500 Futures Edge Higher After Trump Extends Iran Ceasefire: POET, NVTS, KYTX, TSLA Stocks Garner Focus Today

U.S. President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post late Tuesday that he had extended the ceasefire with Iran, although adding that the military blockade in the Strait of Hormuz would continue.

(KYTX) jumped 24% after hours on Tuesday after the company said that its experimental one-time CAR-T cell therapy delivered rapid, lasting improvements in mobility and reversed disability in patients with stiff person syndrome (SPS) in a trial.</p><p>The results were presented in a late-breaking oral session at the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting in Chicago.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Trial Results</h2><p>In the phase-2 trial, 26 patients who had not responded well to standard off-label therapies received a single dose of Kyverna’s miv-cel.</p><p>At 16 weeks, mobility improved significantly; eighty-one percent of patients achieved a clinically meaningful improvement. Two-thirds of those who needed walking aids at the start no longer required them. All 26 patients were able to stop chronic immunotherapies entirely, the company said. Disability, muscle stiffness, and sensitivity to spasms also improved markedly, it added.</p><p>Miv-cel was generally well-tolerated. The most common side effect was a temporary drop in neutrophil cell counts that was manageable, Kyverna said.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">What Next?</h2><p>Kyverna said the data support its plan to submit a biologics license application (BLA) to the FDA for miv-cel in SPS. If approved, it would become the first approved treatment for the condition and the first CAR-T therapy approved for any autoimmune disease.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">How Did Retail Traders React?</h2><p>On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around KYTX stayed within the ‘extremely bullish’ territory over the past 24 hours while message volume jumped from ‘high’ to ‘extremely high’ levels.</p><p>A Stocktwits user expressed optimism for the company, highlighting the past experiences of its CEO Warner Biddle who previously worked with Kite Pharma.
