$KOPN Kopin landed a second Army award Thursday for its color MicroLED displays, another 18.6 million dollars sole-sourced through the IBAS program. Total US government funding is now 34 million dollars. The money is specifically for building out US MicroLED manufacturing capacity, with two more display configurations aimed at ground-soldier and pilot applications. Shares finished up about 6% to 4.46 on Friday.

$KOPN Kopin initiated with an Outperform at Oppenheimer Oppenheimer initiated coverage of Kopin with an Outperform rating and $7 price target. Kopin is transitioning from a defense microdisplay supplier into a multi-vector defense display/optical company, says the analyst, who forecasts revenue reaching $90M in 2028, representing 31% CAGR from 2025. While valuation "implies meaningful execution expectations," the firm sees improving product mix, broader customer exposure, and domestic manufacturing supporting a premium as development programs transition toward production, the analyst added.
