Several companies tied to the data-center sector have delayed or slowed their IPO plans amid growing public opposition to energy-intensive facilities, according to The New York Times. SB Energy, a SoftBank subsidiary planning what it describes as the world’s largest data-center project in Ohio, postponed an IPO that had been expected this month. The company was seeking a valuation of at least $50 billion, but bankers reportedly struggled to secure enough buyers at the targeted price range. Nuclear-energy company Holtec also indefinitely paused its IPO, citing uncertainty surrounding data-center development. It had planned to raise up to $900 million at a valuation of as much as $10 billion. Aggreko, another energy provider with major AI data-center customers, has also slowed its IPO timeline. The company could still go public next month, but is facing challenges linked to data-center demand, higher interest rates and broader economic uncertainty. $HNUC $SFTBY
