The final category is digital asset treasury (DAT) firms."The blockstocks opportunity is unfolding in waves, for example, today it's DATs, tomorrow it could be upcoming IPOs, or distressed infrastructure plays," said BlockSpaceForce CEO Spencer Yang, according to the report. "The biggest alpha comes from companies that engineer products with crypto, not just hold it." On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around Bitcoin remained in ‘bearish’ territory over the past day.&nbsp;The move leaves Bitcoin’s trajectory for the month unclear. While the start hasn’t been strong, it hasn’t reinforced September’s reputation as one of Bitcoin’s weakest periods either. According to an ongoing&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/StocktwitsPolls/message/627200434">poll</a> on Stocktwits, retail traders believe Bitcoin may break the trend in 2025. Bitcoin Gains As ‘September Slump’ Remains Uncertain – Retail Traders Bet On Break From Trend In 2025 

September hasn’t given Bitcoin a strong lift, but neither has it lived up to the month’s reputation as one of Bitcoin’s weakest periods either. 

Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and other top cryptocurrency tokens remained under pressure in pre-market trade on Friday as investors awaited the release of personal consumption expenditure (PCE) data later in the day for clues on inflation and the Fed’s September policy path.<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/SOL.X">Ethereum’s price</a> was the worst-hit among the top cryptocurrency tokens, down more than 5.4% over the last 24 hours, trading at around $4,300–12% below its record of more than $4,900, seen last week. Bitcoin was among the top trending tickers on the platform at the time of writing.&nbsp;Many market watchers are hoping for another bull run after the current week’s doldrums. Tiger Research&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2025/08/29/bitcoin-headed-to-usd190k-on-institutional-wave-research-firm-says">predicted</a> that Bitcoin’s price could reach $190,000 by the end of the third quarter (Q3), driven by global liquidity, ETF demand, and new access to 401(k) plans. The firm’s model showed that the cryptocurrency would at least reach $135,000. It then layered on multipliers for fundamentals and macro conditions to reach the final Bitcoin price forecast.Egrag Crypto, an&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/egragcrypto/status/1961283691197395325">analyst</a> on X, compared Bitcoin’s price performance across four major cycles against the S&amp;P 500. He stated that each successive cycle has delivered smaller gains, but the uptrends have lasted longer. The analyst suggested that Bitcoin’s price could hit another all-time high in December, before cooling off.On the equities side, Bitcoin-linked stocks were in the red during pre-market trading. Shares of Strategy (<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/MSTR">MSTR</a>), the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, dipped 1.79%. Bitcoin Holds $113K Ahead Of Powell Speech On Friday – Ethereum, Cardano, Solana Lead Altcoin Gains

According to a Coinbase Head of Research, David Duong, the selloff isn’t just being driven by trepidation around the upcoming Jackson Hole meeting or fears about inflation.&nbsp;In a&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/Dav1dDuong/status/1957961242792063044">post</a> on X, he wrote that the main reason is probably the large cash buildup in the U.S. Treasury’s account at the Federal Reserve. As the government pulls money into that account, it drains liquidity from the financial system, weighing on markets. “This explains why Bitcoin has lost trend alongside many equity names,” he said. “But we think the path forward looks clearer in September.”The decline also followed deepening losses in cryptocurrency investment products on Tuesday, as fund outflows from Bitcoin and Ether surged to their second-largest levels this month. Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms (<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/RIOT">RIOT</a>) stock gained 0.42%, while shares of its peer, Mara Holdings (<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/MARA">MARA</a>), traded flat. Crypto exchange Coinbase Global’s (<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/COIN">COIN</a>) stock was up 0.7%.Meanwhile,&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/ETH.X">Ethereum’s price</a> dipped 1.9% to around $4,200. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around ETH dropped to ‘bearish’ from ‘neutral’ territory over the past day. Shares of Ethereum-holding companies, Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) and FG Nexus (FGNX), were mixed during pre-market trade.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/BMNR">BMNR’s stock</a> edged 0.86% higher, while&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/BMNR">FGNX’s stock</a> traded flat.Other major altcoins were also in the red during early morning trade. Cardano’s price took the biggest hit, falling more than 9% in the last 24 hours, followed by XRP’s price, which dipped 4% and Dogecoin’s price, which slid 2.3%. Solana’s (SOL) drop was more tempered, with its price edging 0.5% lower over the past day.&nbsp;The selloff in the crypto market led to more than $440 million in liquidations over the past 24 hours, according to Coinglass&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.coinglass.com/LiquidationData">data</a>. Most of the liquidations came from long bets–traders who bet that the price of cryptocurrencies would rise, amounting to around $362 million. Short liquidations were around $77 million.
