About BST

BlackRock Science and Technology Trust is a closed-end equity fund that invests primarily in stocks of companies in the science and technology sector. The fund focuses on both dividend-paying and growth-oriented equities, building a portfolio that includes large, mid, and small capitalization issuers. It holds positions in companies involved in areas such as semiconductors, software, hardware, internet services, and emerging technology businesses. The trust is managed by BlackRock Advisors and follows an actively managed strategy that selects individual securities rather than tracking an index. It is designed for investors seeking exposure to technology-related companies through a diversified, professionally managed portfolio. The fund structure allows it to employ income and capital appreciation strategies consistent with its investment mandate.

$BST $BTBT $ORBS The BlackRock Science & Technology Fund has become a partial Venture Capital fund taking advantage of access to the fastest growing companies.....PRE-IPO. They own a huge chunk of Anthropic pre-IPO....over 7% of their portfolio. Backdoor Anthropic position could be a monster. "The top ten holdings include stakes in three companies that have not yet debuted on the public stock market. In addition to Anthropic, the BlackRock Science and Technology Trust has two more investments in non-publicly traded companies, including defense startup Anduril as well as cloud-based data and artificial intelligence platform Databricks that competes with Snowflake (SNOW). The share of non-publicly traded companies in the fund is 17.3%, which makes the BST quite a unique closed-end fund that also pays a 6% dividend yield."

$BST I don't often swing trade CEFs, but this has become too easy to do, all the while capturing distributions.
