If Americans without 401(k)s got a $1,000 annual match, would it boost investing?

A new retirement proposal would give Americans without employer-sponsored 401(k)s access to a federal-style investment account, with up to a $1,000 annual government match. If implemented, would that meaningfully increase stock market participation?

think about this logically. Non 401K jobs are the lowest earning on average. And typically the people most likely to not invest. If you work from 18-65 that's 47 years of work. Assuming someone maxes out the 401K matching that's 94K saved for retirement....... Who can retire on that. All that to say no.
